Personal Identity Seminar – Class-by-Class
The Students of Westham Secondary School come mainly from the Amaoti African township, a very broken-down
community, with dysfunctional families and child-headed homes.
We first visited the school 2 months ago and have gotten to know the principal quite well.
He comes from a very poor family himself, and therefore can identify and has compassion with the children’s struggles.
Often the children are very discouraged because of the neglect from their parents and having to live in very challenging
circumstances at home.

“And they shall rebuild the ancient ruins, they shall raise up the former desolations and renew
the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations”
Life Coaching & Mentoring
The principal told us about a student who was very disruptive at the school. He spent much time with this student🧑🏾🎓
and found out that his family were very poor and could not afford an adequate uniform, so he bought one for him.
This student is now a prefect at the school and getting good grades🌟
We have come alongside the Principal and his school management team for the past 2 months and are helping the
school with class by class and individual mentoring and coaching of the students.
Many students have prayed with us, forgiven their parents for neglect and surrendered their lives to the Lord 🙌🏼🔥
Some of the educators listened in on our time with the students and said that they would really like a one-on-one
meeting with us to deal with some of their own trauma from the upbringing and past🧑🏾🎓✝️🔥
The educators also often find it very difficult to teach the students, because they are hungry and therefore not able
to concentrate.
We have started doing group and one-on-one mentoring and coaching of the educators.

God has reconciled us to Himself and given to us the ministry of reconciliation.
For it is Christ’s Love that fuels our passion and motivates us.

The principal said that the school 🏫 was experiencing an amazing peace since our first visit and ministry to the
educators and students🧑🏾🎓 and that the educators were hugely motivated and encouraged.
The vice head (Hindu faith), said that they were already experiencing a positive change with some of the students
since our first visit there.
We are mentoring a pastor who has recently started church-meetings in one of the offices at the school. He and
his leadership team are very keen to disciple the students from the school.

Vision – Westham Secondary School
Most of the children at Westham Secondary don’t get food at home and are dependant on a single meal that they receive at the school.
They often arrive at the school very hungry, not having had breakfast or supper the previous night and find it very hard to concentrate.
Ideally we would like to see the children getting a meal on arrival at school and then again at midday.
Immediate Needs
The Principal and School management team have a vision for:
– A Fully-Functioning Kitchen, with stove, fridge and wash-up basins.
– Sustainable Veggie Gardens, where the students are taught to grow vegetables and
harvest them, and also learn to grow vegetables for their own needs at home.
– Basic Boarding facilities at the school.
Many of the children are from child-headed families and live in very poor conditions,
where they find it very hard to study. Basic boarding facilities would help them to
study in peaceful conditions, especially when preparing for exams.
